Beware the maid.

Today I come home from work and the power is out in the study. All the computers are dead, the DSL modem is out, the UPSes are completely drained. There’s a known problem with power surges and vacuum cleaners… but no circuit breaker is tripped. What has gone on here? And more importantly, how much is this gonna cost me to fix?
