I know it’s cool to complain about Paypal, but I gotta give them a hand today.
In 2004 I bought something on eBay for $50, the person never sent it, and they vanished off the planet. I filed a dispute on Paypal, and after a few months just got back half the cash. I’ve long since written off the $25 (as had Paypal, which closed the case), but every time I login to Paypal, I get a “Your account has open issues!” message, in blue type inside a pink box. Two years of that starts to get old.
I sent a message to support asking if they could just wipe that message off my account (never mind the $25), and was told to call Paypal customer service. Call? On the phone? I did. After 10 minutes on hold, I spoke to a very cordial rep. He took a look at the account and said not only was he going to get rid of that annoying message, he was going to refund me the $25!
Now that was all a few minutes ago, so I don’t have the cash and the message is still lingering, but I’m promised it’ll all be done by the end of the week. Assuming this all pans out properly, kudos Paypal, you’re my hero of the week!
