Here’s a weird phenomenon I don’t get: Why do delivery people always want to shake my hand when they come by? Not FedEx, UPS, etc. I see them every day and we never touch. The furniture delivery kind of guys. They invariably want to shake hands when they come by, even though I’ll never see them again. Happens every time.

It’s nothing personal about delivery guys, mind you. I just don’t get it. I don’t shake hands with the waiter when I go out. Don’t shake with the pizza guy. Don’t shake with the mailman. What is it about guys in really big trucks that makes them want to press the flesh?
