Featured in Mystery Readers International’s Latest Issue – Northern California Mysteries

by Christopher Null  /  November 4, 2025

I actually forgot I wrote an essay for Mystery Readers International magazine, but here it is, in the latest issue, dedicated to stories set in northern California. The Cul-de-sac is set in a nameless town in Marin County, though figuring out exactly where it takes place — down to the street address — shouldn’t be too much trouble for an enterprising sleuth.

In my article, I delve into the inspiration for the book’s setting — and why sleepy Marin is the perfect place for a story about murder and deception.

I hope you’ll check out the issue!
